The 3 Classic Ice Cream Toppings

Are you someone who is faithful to their hot fudge when it comes to toppings for ice cream? Or maybe the weirder the better? Whatever your preference is, let this list of the 3 classic ice cream toppings be your guide to where you should start with toppings.

1. Cherries

A classic. Almost every time you see a sundae or banana split, you see a cherry on top. Usually they're the really bright and sweet maraschino cherries. Anybody a fan of these? I've never liked them myself... they flavor is just *shutters* blah. But, to each their own. I would prefer a real cherry or even a sauce made from cherries drizzled on top!

2. Sprinkles

Another fan favorite AND they come in so many shapes and sizes! I've worked at an ice cream shop (yes I ate ice cream until I was sick but this love is eternal) and most of the time it was the young kids that usually requested the sprinkles. I don't blame them. What they lack in flavor they make up for in appearance. Sprinkles just have a way of cheering you up and making everything better.

3. Cereal

Ok this is one of the most underrated ice cream toppings. THE POSSIBILITIES ARE ENDLESS! Some of my personal favorites are Fruity Pebbles, Cocoa Pebbles, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, and Captain Crunch, just to name a few. Think of how amazing it would be to have some lovely cheesecake ice cream with your Cinnamon Toast Crunch. Not only do you get a wonderful crunch, but the flavors together? Wow.
