That really is the question...
Are you someone that likes to enjoy a cone with your ice cream? Personally, I prefer to enjoy mine in just a simple cup. This way I am able to enjoy maximum ice cream flavor. There are sometimes that I make an exception, and it depends on what cones the ice cream place has to offer. Let me tell you what I mean.
Sugar cone

Ah, the humble sugar cone. One of the most popular cones that we see. It is usually found in most ice cream parlors and usually has a paper wrapping. I like to go for a sugar cone when I don't want the size of a waffle cone, but I want the same amazing flavor.
These cones tend to have a nice crunch and can hold up when it comes to ice cream. They don't get overly soggy before you're finished which is the big plus. The only downside is that if you don't eat it fast enough, you could have some liquid gold leak out from the tiny hole at the bottom. But who eats their ice cream so slow that they let it melt? Amateurs.
Cake cone

Another classic cone, and probably the most popular of the two in this post. These are used in places like McDonald's, Dairy Queen, and many other places that serve ice cream. These cones differentiate themselves with a light, airy crunch. Although the lightness is desirable, this can also be problematic. Nobody likes a soggy cone.
They also come with a paper wrapper around them which helps catch the deadly drips. I do enjoy these cones because they don't really mess with the flavor of the ice cream, they just add a nice texture element.
